Big Buddha

We have lived in Phuket for over five years and seen the Big Buddha from the ground more times than I can count. Driving up that winding hill through traffic is always a hassle, so we decided to try seeing it from the air for a change. Honestly it blew our minds. Seeing the white marble statue towering over the green jungle peak with the ocean wrapping around the whole island behind it is something you just cannot grasp from a parking lot. The pilot was super cool, pointing out local landmarks we actually recognized from above. If you live here or come visit often, do this at least once. It gives you a whole new appreciation for our island home.
